After many years of developing and harnessing her language-teaching skills with The French Ecole, Alexa has now created an audio treat for people who wish to learn a new language from scratch, without any pressure, in fun, relaxed, and manageable chunks.
This is the very first lesson of Alexa’s famous French For Beginners course. Highlights of Lesson 1 include: an introduction to the class format and some basic vocabulary; how to say how you are and where you live; talking about the weather; a small quiz; and a French song.

This is really the best french course I have seen so far. I am going to start to study with this method. I just love the way the information is presented.

I’ve been working with the lessons for three days, and I’m amazed with the amount of french that I’ve learned since day one.
I dind’t know french at all, and I feel confident with what I’m learning. I’m from Mexico and I studied english for a while so, I am practicing my english while learning french. It’s just awesome!
I can’t wait to suscribe, but it has to wait a little bit.

Dear Alexa,
I’ve just decided to study French on my own and, while searching in the iTunes Store for podcasts, I found yours and ended up finding also your website, which is great, by the way (Congratulations on it!). Nonetheless, I’m still a bit lost among so much information I could find here. I’ve never had any contact with French before, I’m a Portuguese speaker (from Brazil!) and I’d like you to give me some guidance on how I should work, which sections or lessons are appropriate for me, all those things. You seem to be an awesome teacher and I’m pretty sure I’m on good hands.

I would need to know what level is your French before guiding you through the different sections of the site. The site, I agree, is a little confusing at time, but we are working on it and are trying to make it more simple. Why don’t you try a ’sujet de la semaine’ to see which one you understand better.
