Superlatives of superiority and inferiority

Well, it is basically when you say ‘the’ then an adjective with ‘est’ at the end (e.g.: biggest) or when you say ‘the most’ then an adjective (e.g.: the most interesting).

So, how do we form a superlative in French?

Well, we use either ‘le’ ‘la’ or ‘les’ and ‘plus’ THEN the adjective required:

Adjective English: slow

Superlative English: the slowest

Comparative French: plus lent que (slower than)

Superlative French: le/la/les plus lent(e)(es)(s)*
