FAMILY MEMBERS

• la maman (the mummy)
• ma maman (my mummy)
• la mère (the mother)
• ma mère (my mother)
• le papa (the daddy)
• mon papa (my daddy)
• le père (the father)
• mon père (my father)
• le fils (the son)
• mon fils (my son)

Please note that the word for a boy is un garçon.

• la fille (the daughter)

• ma fille (my daughter)

Please note that the word fille can also mean a girl.

• le frère (the brother)

• mon frère (my brother)

• la sœur (the sister)

• ma sœur (my sister)

• la femme (the wife)

• ma femme (my wife)

Please note that the word femme can also mean a woman.

• le mari (the husband)

• mon mari (my husband)

Please note that the word mari doesn't mean a man.

• l'homme (the man)

• mon homme (my man)

EXEMPLES

• J'ai un garçon.
  I have one/a boy.

• J'ai une fille.
  I have one/a daughter/girl.

• J'ai un fils.
  I have one/a son.

• La fille de ma sœur s'appelle Sarah.
  My sister's daughter is called Sarah.

• Ma mère et mon père mangent avec le frère de ma mère.
  My mother and my father eat with my mother's brother.
