All about Learn French with Alexa

Posted by Nancy on 23rd Jul 2020 in the blog in the frequently asked questions category

Learn French with Alexa (LFWA) is a well-oiled machine filled with different elements. The elements are a robust online course on our website, a YouTube channel with free and paid content, social media platforms and a podcast. Many of you are often confused about the different bits that make up the LFWA universe, so we thought to write this blog post to explain it all to you. Hopefully, after today, you will become an expert in all things LFWA and will know which of our platforms is best suited for your needs.

Let's start with the YouTube channel since it is our most popular platform. Alexa began creating YouTube content in November 2011, almost ten years ago. The channel now houses over 620 fun and lighthearted videos to help you with your French. The LFWA YouTube content is and will always be free for you to enjoy. We will continue to provide you with fun and relaxed videos to help you with your journey to French fluency.

Also, on YouTube, we have Memberships. Memberships allow you to enjoy extra perks as a YouTube subscriber while helping sponsor our channel financially. Memberships are not available in every country, but we are aware that it is something YouTube is working on expanding. Our membership tiers work as follows:

Tier 1: Alexa Live

  • In this membership tier, you will enjoy loyalty badges next to your name in comments and during live chats. It will allow you to stand out and capture Alexa's attention. It's particularly helpful during our open live sessions as we often have thousands of people in the chat.
  • You will also have access to Alexa's EXCLUSIVE live sessions and replays, which are a great place to ask her detailed questions.

Tier 2: Alexa's Video Guides

  • This tier includes all the perks from Tier 1 and:
  • Access to the exclusive member's area for video support guides.

Tier 3: Alexa's Audio Experience

  • This tier includes all the perks from Tier 1 and 2 and:
  • Access to the exclusive member's area for audio versions of new videos and additional audio lessons to put you ahead of the game.

Next up is our subscription course housed on www.learnfrenchwithalexa.com. The course is for those who would like to take their French to the next level. Most of our course subscribers are either learning French for work or to move to a French-speaking country. Others do it simply for the sake of learning the language. It is suited for those who are ready for a higher level of learning. The course contains over 60 hours of core lessons and over 70 hours of live lessons. The video course is structured from level A0 to level C2 and follows the recognised CEFR guidelines. It contains many exercise videos (dictations, readings, and gap fills), live lessons and the replay of over 110 past live lessons as well as exclusive video worksheets and support guides which you can download and print. New to the course are quizzes. We are currently implementing quizzes that will help you which each lesson.

The course is available on subscription. We have monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions, with the annual one being the best deal. It allows you to take your time with the course in order to absorb all the material thoroughly. All of our subscriptions are renewed automatically. If you wish to cancel for any reason, you may do so by logging into your account or emailing us at support@learnfrenchwithalexa.com before your renewal date. We can also upgrade or downgrade your subscription for you if you wish. Keep in mind that when your subscription is no longer active, you will still have access to your account, but will lose access to the course material.

We know that this is a significant investment of both time and money, which is why lesson 16 of the course is free for you to try and get a taste of what it's like to be on the course. You can access it here.

We also have our social media channels. You can connect with us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Our social media channels are another great avenue for bite-size lessons. Every day we share mini lessons to help you better your French. We also have groups on Facebook, where you can practice your French with other members.

Last but not least, we have partnered with SLimmersion, a fantastic company that provides one-to-one lessons. They are our official lesson partner. They will work with you by arranging skype sessions with a French teacher and will help you as you progress through our online curriculum. To get in touch with them, click on the link here.

As always, be sure to watch our YouTube videos to stay up to date with the latest lessons. We also mini-lessons daily on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Bonne chance et bisou bisou!
