What's in our updated TEF Course?
Posted by Josh on 28th Feb 2025 in the blog in the tef category
At Learn French With Alexa, we pride ourselves on keeping all our content up to date and in line with the latest exam specifications.
The TEF exam has undergone some changes, and so we’ve updated our TEF Exam Preparation Course accordingly.
Comprising an extensive range of practice exercises, videos and support guides across the four sections of the TEF exam, our TEF Exam Preparation Course corresponds with the material you are likely to find on the latest version of the TEF. In addition, our course includes two hours of TEF speaking practice with one of our TEF experts, as well as two TEF writing submissions with feedback from one of our TEF experts, and the option to purchase more.
Please note that while our TEF course focuses on TEF Canada, the new changes also apply to the TEF exam and TEF QUEBEC exam as well as TEF CANADA.
The changes to the exam are the following:
Compréhension écrite:
- Insertion de phrases, Ordre de phrases and Reformulation will no longer be on the test. Instead, you can expect to find more reading comprehension exercises, more gap fills and more texts to read.
- Instead of 50 questions, there will now be 40 questions.
Compréhension orale:
- The radio passages and homophones exercises will no longer be on the test. Instead, there will be more listening exercises and audio tracks, and you can expect the audio exercises to be more difficult in places.
- Instead of 60 questions, there will now be 40 questions.
Everything else, including Expression écrite and Expression orale, remains the same. If you have any questions regarding the changes, please feel free to reach out to us at support@learnfrenchwithalexa.com.

É, è, ê, ë and ç are still the bain of existence, despite French being my first language. The French language uses five different accents to indicate variations in pronunciation and distinguish between similar words.
