How many times has France won the World Cup?
France has won the FIFA World Cup twice, first in 1998, when it last hosted the Cup, and then in 2018.
In 1998, France played Brazil in the final, where they won 3-0. In 2018, versus Croatia, France scored four goals versus Croatia's two.
France was also the runner up during the last World Cup in 2022, when it was beaten by Argentina in the finals.
The manager, Didier Deschamps, has managed the team since 2012.
Has France qualified for the 2026 World Cup?
Yes, France has qualified for the 2026 World Cup. They will be playing against Senegal, Iraq and Norway in Group I:
- June 16 - France vs Senegal - New York New Jersey Stadium (3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT)
- June 22 - France vs Iraq - Philladelphia Stadium (5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT)
- June 26 - Norway vs France - Boston Stadium (3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT)
The kit this year features a diagonal striped design with varying shades of navy.
Where and when is the 2026 World Cup taking place?
The 2026 World Cup will be taking place in North America, across Canada, the United States and Mexico, between 11 June and 19 July. It is the first time the World Cup has been hosted by three separate countries.
