Alexa's Complete French Course is designed to help you develop proficiency in French from the comfort of your own home. But while writing, reading and listening can be improved in isolation, speaking isn’t so easy when you’ve no one to speak to.
Unlike other courses, our content makes full use of audio and video content to help provide you with useful pronunciation tips and get you used to hearing how French should be spoken. On our YouTube channel we also host a popular series of ‘Speak French with me!’ videos to get viewers used to expressing themselves. But there’s no substitute for speaking French in real time, alongside other speakers and with a teacher to help guide your development and encourage confidence.
That’s why we started our immensely successful speaking practice sessions. These are small online classes led by one of our experienced French teachers. Classes are limited to a maximum of twelve participants to guarantee that everyone has a chance to put their speaking into practice. Together with your classmates you’ll embark on group activities and practise speaking French over five or ten classes, depending on the type of class you select.
The regular speaking sessions are one-hour classes that take place on the same weekday for ten weeks. They are designed to help you build confidence in a relaxed classroom-style environment.
The intensive speaking sessions take place each weekday over the course of a week. Each class is two hours and aims to fast-track your speaking skills, helping you reach the next level in a short period of time.
The classes are organised by level, ranging from beginner to advanced, so you can choose the class that is most appropriate for you.
For more information on the speaking practice sessions, take a look at Speaking Practice page.
Here are some of our reviews
‘Many things - GREAT teacher, good structure, practice exercises, SMALL group, & native Speaker, & good course timing (early morning). Simply the best language practice I've experienced on-line.’
‘I enjoyed it all. It was a very comfortable environment which made it easy to speak even though mistakes were bound to be made. The topics were good and I enjoyed learning more French culture every week.’
‘I really enjoy when we work on pronunciation as a group because in breakouts, sometimes we aren't sure if we are saying it right. I also love learning vocabulary that comes up naturally when we are talking vs in the worksheets. That live experience helps me remember it more for some reason than re-reading a vocab list on my own.’
